Serpula himantioides (Fr. ex Fr.) Karst. syn. Merulius himantioides Fr. ex Fr. syn. Gyrophana himantioides (Fr. ex Fr.) Pat. Fruit body resupinate, forming patches 2–5cm across, smooth at first becoming irregularly wrinkled forming reticulate ‘pores’, lilac at first then drying umber, margin white, thin. Spores yellowish-brown, elliptic, 9–10 x 6um. Habitat on dead conifer wood, especially on the undersides of large logs. Season all year. Occasional. Not edible. Found In Europe.
